Scholarships in the Geosciences

The AGI Federation of societies and associated organizations offer a variety of scholarships to support students in the geosciences. These scholarships are designed to help students pursue their education and careers in the geosciences.

Next Horizons First-Generation Student Geoscience Scholarship

Providing a $5,000 award to support entry into geoscience graduate studies, this one-time, merit-based scholarship goes to a U.S. geoscience student who is the first-generation in their family to attend college.

Wallace Scholarship

These two annual $5,000 scholarships, established from a bequest from Harriet Evelyn Wallace, support female geoscience graduate students in the United States, including one at the master’s level and one at the Ph.D. level.

GSW Diversity Award

The annual GeoScienceWorld Diversity and Representation Award program provides $5,000 scholarships for U.S. geoscience graduate students from historically marginalized communities in the Earth Sciences, Planetary, or Earth Science-adjacent degree programs.
