Workforce Infographic
A visual career-planning resource that helps students think broadly about geoscience sectors, roles, and transferable skills.
AGI developed this infographic as part of the Preparing Our Workforce Initiative to help students entering the workforce rethink what it means to build a geoscience career.
The resource is not intended to be a definitive map of every possible role. Instead, it is a planning tool that encourages students to think beyond narrow disciplinary labels and consider how their interests, competencies, and transferable skills fit across multiple sectors of the geoscience profession.
The colored rings represent sectors where geoscientists work. The wedges represent fields where geoscientists are employed, along with example occupations. Where wedges intersect with rings, the infographic highlights how those fields appear across different sectors.
